The Zambezi, Africa’s fourth longest river, offers a diversity of experiences to travellers, from uncontrived game viewing in the unfenced wilderness areas this river flows through and the adrenaline activities offered at the Victoria Falls, to gentle cruises on Lake Kariba and canoe safaris in the Lower Zambezi Valley. The Zambezi is an artery for the African continent, providing an important source of power and bringing life and sustenance to both the people and wildlife living on its banks. We are proud to share our passion for this part of Southern Africa and take you on an incredible journey, a once in a lifetime experience.

On the northern banks of the Zambezi, in the heart of the Lower Zambezi Valley, you will find the intimate Baines’ River Camp. Our local and experienced guides will show you “their Zambia” on game drives, walking safaris, canoeing expeditions and a visit to the villages where they grew up. Enjoy fine cuisine, signature Zambezi sunsets and the thrill of catching a tiger fish whilst accommodated in one of Zambia’s finest camps.

From there we will take you on a river and road journey to neighbouring Zimbabwe, crossing over the legendary Kariba Dam Wall to board our elegant safari cruiser, MV Matusadona. Cocooned in the lap of barefoot luxury whilst you explore the shoreline of the Matusadona National Park, you will find yourself surrounded by an ever-changing  kaleidoscope of views with wildlife roaming freely at the water’s edge. A cruise on this vast lake is the ideal extension to any land-based safari.
